Menu 2026

The menu.

There is no seasonal menu here: there is a menu for each morning. What comes in from the fish market is handwritten on the wall and crossed out when it runs out. The rest, the usual, is below, with its price.

Two notes before you order

“S.M.” means market price. The day sets the price, not us; ask and we will tell you before you order.

Almost everything comes as a full or half portion, which is the Andalusian way of trying it all.

01Soups and salads

To start

Andalusian gazpacho when the heat is on and seafood soup when it cools down. Dressed tomatoes, lettuce hearts with avocado and prawns, peppers with tuna, Russian salad, octopus salad. Iberian ham and Manchego cheese for those who do not want to wait for anything. And fried aubergines with cane honey, the most Málaga thing on this menu.

Fish and seafood portions

The part of the menu you eat with your hands and without looking at the clock. Anchovies in vinegar, fried megrim, gambas al pil-pil with bread. Oysters, conchas finas and scallops with king prawns, by the piece, so everyone orders as many as they fancy. Coquinas, razor clams, mini mussels in garlic. And a shrimp fritter so thin you can hear it break.

Rice

It is the only rule on the menu and we like it: rice is made for sharing. Caldoso with scarlet prawns, seafood paella, mixed paella, black rice. It is started when you order it, so order something for the wait and let the rice arrive when it is ready. Someone once wrote that La Palma’s seafood paella is the best they have ever had. We will not argue.

Meat

For those who come from the sea and want something else, or who come from the land and will not swap it. Iberian presa and tenderloin, shoulder and chops of milk-fed lamb, beef entrecôte. Pork or chicken fillets with chips for the little ones and for those who do not want to complicate things today. All with roast potatoes and sweet potato, or chips. Sauces on the side: aioli, green pepper, mushroom.

Wine

Rioja and Ribera for meat; Albariño and Verdejo for fish; whites from Cádiz and Catalonia; rosés for the terrace. And what Estepona asks for at two in the afternoon with a concha fina in front of it: fino and manzanilla, very cold. Ask about the wines off the list; there is always one.

08The first and the last hour

Breakfast and afternoons

From half past seven: coffee, and some say La Palma’s is like no other. With it, the bocadillo de carne mechá that made this bar famous, the pitufo, toast with tomato and olive oil or whatever you fancy. In the afternoon, coffee and something sweet: a generous slice of house cake and a cream mille-feuille with its own fan club.

Bread and allergens

Bread or breadsticks on the table, €1.50 per person, and gluten-free bread if you need it. Allergens are marked dish by dish on the printed menu. If you have any doubt, ask us: we would rather have a question than a scare.
