La Palma notebook

What goes on in the house.

What comes in from the fish market, whose birthday it is behind the bar, what is cooking in Estepona. Eight entries, no rush.

In August 2025 Pablo Carbonell came to Estepona to play an acoustic concert, and during those days he sat down to dinner at La Palma with his company. What we have left from that night is the photo, by the bar, with Francisco Galán Palma.

The Town Hall announced it for Wednesday 6 August at 22:30 in Plaza Antonia Guerrero, free entry: Pablo Carbonell on his own, voice and guitar, with some of his best-known songs mixed with monologues and new material.

We are deeply grateful to Estepona Town Hall and its mayor, José María García Urbano, for recognising our professional career at the institutional event for Construction Day. Thank you, from the heart.

Congratulations to our whole team, and especially to our dear «patrón», Francisco Galán Palma, and his family: for being there, always, through thick and thin, and for the dedication, care and commitment that have made La Palma a special place in many people's lives.

In the south some dishes simply have to be on the table, and anchovies in vinegar come first. If you are in Estepona, you will find them at La Palma every day.

We are in the old town of Estepona, on calle Terraza, a few minutes from the marina and the beach. Fish and seafood of the day are what we do, so boquerones en vinagre have never left the menu.

“The first thing my family and I do when we arrive in Estepona is go to La Palma.” Anyone with friends who have a second home in Estepona knows that line. We have heard it so many times it is part of the house.

If any bar in Estepona has tradition, it is La Palma. We are on calle Terraza, right in the centre, where locals and visitors meet.

La Palma is one of the oldest houses in Estepona. We are on calle Terraza, in the centre, and over the years this has become more than a bar: it is a place where the life of the town happens.

For more than sixty years La Palma has watched the life of Estepona’s people and its visitors go by. If these walls could talk, they would tell everything that has been said at this bar. In other times day labourers and bosses, sales and letting agents and people from every trade met here to close their deals over a coffee. Today it is still where friends, families and people passing through Estepona meet.
